Walking Mountains Expands Family Programs to Gypsum & Dotsero

Written by Walking Mountains Science Center | Sep 20, 2019 8:00:00 PM

Walking Mountains Science Center will begin offering free family programs in Gypsum and Dotsero beginning September 25! Families with young children ages 3 to 6 are encouraged to come explore the natural world and have fun with others while developing their sense of place. Walking Mountains believes in fostering a love for the great outdoors at a young age, and our EarthKeepers programs are the perfect way to introduce young children and their families to the natural world. These programs are outdoor-based and led by knowledgeable and passionate staff who will encourage a family’s curiosity and incorporate natural science education into fun, hands-on experiences including plants, insects, dinosaurs, birds, and many more!

The popular EarthKeepers program has been very successful in Avon on the Walking Mountains Tang Campus for many years and will continue to take place there. The expansion of EarthKeepers to Dotsero and Gypsum has been made possible via a grant from the Colorado Health Foundation and also support from Alan Bradley Windows and Doors. Dotsero and Gypsum programs are free while Avon programs cost $10 per child.

EarthKeepers will meet in Dotsero at the Two Rivers Village Community Center every Wednesday beginning September 25th at 10:15am until 11:45am. Families with 3-6-year-olds are invited to spend 1.5 hours together for fun and safe nature experiences and adventures. These programs are free and open to the public.

EarthKeepers will meet in Gypsum at the Eagle Valley Library every Saturday beginning October 5th at 10:15am until 11:45am. Families with 3-6-year-olds are invited to spend 1.5 hours together for fun and safe nature experiences and adventures. These programs are free and open to the public.

EarthKeepers will continue to meet in Avon at the Walking Mountains Avon Tang Campus on Mondays and Fridays beginning on December 20th. Programs in Avon cost $10 per child.
