Walking Mountains' Zero Waste program is committed to reducing waste and resource consumption. At Zero Waste events we do this by working with event producers, brands, corporate partners, local municipalities and waste haulers to ensure sustainable products, i.e. products that can be composted or recycled, are being purchased for the event and distributed at the event. During an event, our team sets up Zero Waste stations to help separate recyclable and compostable materials. Our goal is to divert as much waste headed to the landfill as possible and create a culture shift in the way our community thinks about waste by educating and directing locals and visitors on proper waste disposal! At the end of the day, together, the more waste we divert from the landfill the more greenhouse gasses we keep from entering the atmosphere in Eagle County.

Check out some highlights below and thank you to all our partners and event spectators helping us to meet our Climate Action Collaborative goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2025 and 80% by 2050.

Walking Mountains also assists the Vail Farmer's Market, Beaver Creek Rodeo, ShowDown Town in Eagle, Bonfire Block Party, Burton U.S. Open, Rocky Mountain Burger Battle, Purina Pro Dog Challenge, Eagle Flight Days, The Salute in Avon, Avon Live Concert Series, Beaver Creek 4th of July, Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival, Gourmet On Gore, Beaver Creek Oktoberfest, Eagle Septemberfest, Man Of The Cliff and Beaver Creek Winter Culinary events in their Zero Waste efforts! We work with events large & small, annually.
