- The Federal Register is the official journal of the federal government of the United States that contains government agency rules, proposed rules, and public notices. It is published every weekday, except on federal holidays.
- Has a search function and an “Environment” category to browse.
Where to Find State Legislation:
Colorado Environmental Rulemaking Boards and Commissions
- Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
- The department serves Coloradans by providing public health and environmental protection services that promote healthy people in healthy places.
- Environmental divisions include air pollution control, water quality, waste management, and sustainability.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Public Notices
- The EPA is a United States Department with branches in each state, broken up by region. They are focused on the environment and public health, addressing issues like air quality/pollution prevention, water, natural resources, environmental justice, and more.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Public Comments
- CPW is charged with balancing the conservation of our wildlife and habitat with the recreational needs of our state. Public comments often tackle issues involving conservation, public lands, natural resource management, etc.
- Look at meeting agendas and “Rule Making.”

- You can sign up for notifications to know when a specific agency is having a rulemaking hearing (pg. 7).

- Like the Federal Register, is the official journal containing government agency rules, proposed rules, and public notices. The state journal is published monthly.
- Tip: Use control F to search for departments among the lengthy documents.
Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
- Access a calendar of various agency’s public meetings, as well as additional information on public records.
