¿Qué es lo que más le gusta del trabajo de ERWC?
El trabajo que hace el Watershed Council, desde proyectos de restauración de ríos hasta eventos de educación comunitaria, es muy importante para nuestra comunidad y nuestros ríos. Es difícil precisar lo que más amo, pero creo que el solo hecho de ponerme a trabajar estos increíbles días centrados en el río en el campo me hace sonreír. Siempre me han gustado los ríos y el agua, ¡y me siento más como en casa cuando estoy cerca de ellos!
¿Cómo ha visto el trabajo de ERWC impactar a alguien en la comunidad?
El Watershed Council organiza un día de rafting bilingüe con EVOM y los navegantes del vecindario cada año con el objetivo de acercar a las personas que nunca han experimentado el río en los botes. El año pasado tuvimos una madre y un hijo que se unieron a nosotros y lo pasaron muy bien juntos, viendo a todos los animales a lo largo de las riberas del río y golpeando algunas aguas bravas. Ella nos escribió una carta maravillosa compartiendo un poco sobre su historia y cómo no hubieran tenido esta experiencia sin nuestro evento, y eso me hizo sonreír y alimentar el trabajo que hacemos.
Si pudiera elegir una palabra para describir a ERWC; ¿Cuál sería?
Creo que la palabra dinámica nos queda bien, ¡como un río!
¿Cómo ha influido EVOM en ERWC?
EVOM nos ha ayudado a llegar cada vez más a nuestra comunidad y nos ha ayudado a actuar sobre la base de la creencia de que los ríos son para todos.

What do you love most about ERWC's work?The work that the Watershed Council does - from river restoration projects to community education events - is so important for our community and our rivers. It's hard to pin down what I love most, but I think just getting to work those incredible river-centric days out in the field make me smile. I have always loved rivers and water, and feel most at home when I'm close to them!
How have you seen ERWC's work impact someone in the community?
The Watershed Council hosts a bilingual rafting day with EVOM and neighborhood navigators each year aimed at getting folks who have never experienced the river up close onto boats. Last year we had a mother and son join us and they had such a wonderful time together, seeing all of the animals along the riverbanks and hitting some whitewater. She wrote us a wonderful letter sharing a little bit about her story and how they wouldn't have had this experience without our event, and that just made me smile and fuels the work we do.
If you could choose one word to describe ERWC, what would it be?
I think the word dynamic fits us well - just like a river!
How has EVOM influenced ERWC?
EVOM has helped us reach more and more of our community, and has helped us act on the belief that rivers are for all.
