Did you know that the number inside the recycling symbol is actually used to identify the type of material? It doesn’t ensure the items are recyclable, but rather lets you know the type of plastic you are purchasing.

Helpful Plastic Recycling Tips:

  • Think about purchasing a reusable water bottle, coffee cup, or metal straw.
  • Bring your reusable water bottle, coffee cup or metal straw with you when you go to the local coffee shop or your favorite local eatery. You don't have to use their cups and they will happily fill your cup or water bottle instead!

What you can do:
Start by taking the Plastic Free challenge to see how much you can reduce your use of plastic!
