The Science Behind Preparing for, and Achieving, Your Peak Athletic Performance

Have you been thinking about jumping into a strenuous exercise program to take your body to the next level? Join Walking Mountains Science Center and Dr. Tom Palic on Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30pm during the next installation of the Science Behind Series to find out what you’ll need to do to prepare for, and achieve peak performance from a scientific perspective.

Dr. Palic will be discussing how to achieve and maintain peak performance as it pertains to world cup athletes and weekend warriors. This discussion will also include a section about why patients plateau in post-surgical recovery. Dr. Palic will also review the balance between the body's three major components: structural, chemical, and emotional needs.

Upcoming Science Behind Schedule

Over time the body has an amazing ability to compensate for injuries. While a person may feel like they have recovered from the injury because of the absence of pain, the body is most likely in a compensation pattern from that injury. Over time we accumulate injuries and the bodies ability to adapt diminishes. Find out if old injuries are affecting you and learn how to increase your body's ability to adapt.

Servicing the Vail Colorado area since 2006, Dr. Tom J. Palic, has been featured in Chiropractic Economic magazine, consulted with over 50 Olympic and professional athletes, is a former U.S. Ski team chiropractor and is a medical provider for Red Bull Athletics. A comprehensive Vail Valley chiropractic clinic, the Palic Clinic utilizes innovative technologies, cold lasers, proven practices and nutrition. This holistic approach helps deliver custom care unique to your needs. Dr. Palic specializes in sports medicine, post surgical rehabilitation, nutrition, back pain, as well as acute and chronic conditions

The Science Behind series of classes highlights useful and fun skills that have underlying scientific principles. Each class provides a hands-on, interactive component with instruction from a local subject matter expert and a Walking Mountains educator. Classes are held once a month at Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon.
